Setups!
I have a lot of fun with setups so this is the page dedicated to my musical theater setups. Each setup includes a picture, a description of the production, and a list of the equipment used!

You're A Good Man Charlie Brown
This was a long awaited show for me. When I was younger I used to play along the cast recording, I never imagined I would get to play that show 7 years later! I took inspiration for the setup from Ryan McCausland who played a regional production of the show back in 2013. Fast forward from 2019 the matching snare drum that came with the SPL kit was not the sound I was looking for this show. Introducing the DW Design Series Acrylic Sea Glass Snare Drum. A very nice crack to it and very versatile . I also knew it was time to switch out the tom heads, so Evans was the way to go. the toms were outfitted with Evans G2's. Gave them very nice warmth and sustain. Also fast forward from 2019, a beautiful set of Zildjian K's. Love the Ride cymbal very nice stick definition for jazz and a great multipurpose Ride. The hi-hats have a very nice bark and are also great for jazz! The crashes that come with the set are very nice. Not too dark, but not too bright either. They are what I call perfection! This was an electronics heavy show, I utilized both the Alesis SamplePad Pro and the I-Rig Keys Pro 2 - 37 Keys model. The book calls for very fast switches from DrumSet to a Crotale and a Glockenspiel note, so I programmed those switches into the sample pad.
The equipment used was an SPL Street Bop Kit with an 18 x 16" Bass Drum, 10 x 7" Tom, 13 x 13" Floor Tom, and a DW 14 x 6.5" Snare Drum. As for the cymbals, I utilized a pair of Zildjian K 14" Hi-Hats, Zildjian K 18" Crash Cymbal, a Zildjian 10" K Splash, a 20" K Ride. For Percussion, I utilized the handy dandy Miller Machine and the LP Red medium Jam Block. For Electronics, I utilized the Alesis Strike Multipad, where I triggered Timpani, Crotales, and other sound effects, the IRig Keys 2 - 37 Key model, and a MacBook Air running MainStage 3 . Overall, this was an incredibly fun show to play and I hope I get to play it again soon.

If I thought High School Musical was a fun Disney show to play, I had no I idea what was coming! This was such an epic and demanding show to play. I had seen John Redsecker and Danny Taylor's setups for the show and tried to find a good balance with what I had to work with. With this show being a jazz and swing heavy show, the 4 piece kit worked out great! This book was my first time using The traditional Miller Machine! This was my craziest cymbal setup back then, utilizing 5 cymbals! Since this was a junior version, I had to combine both the drum set and percussion books into one! The Alesis SamplePad Pro made a comeback! I triggered bongos, congas, timbales, and a jiggly splash effect. Also, and add-on to the cymbal setup, a Zildjian K Splash! This was my first Zildjian Cymbal in my arsenal and I loved the quick splash of it, and it was perfect for accenting different parts in the show, and I had some quick switches on it during, "One Jump Ahead". Speaking of fast switches, I once again used the Vic Firth SD4's for fast switches on the cymbals, especially on the china.
The equipment used was an SPL Street Bop Kit with an 18 x 16" Bass Drum, 10 x 7" Tom, 13 x 13" Floor Tom, and a 13 x 5" Snare Drum. As for the cymbals, I utilized a pair of Meinl HCS 14" Hi-Hats, 14" Crash Cymbal, a Zildjian 10" K Splash, a 20" Ride, and a 18" Meinl Trash China. For percussion, I utilized an LP Mark Tree. As for Electronics, I utilized the Alesis SamplePad Pro. Overall, this was an amazing and fun show to have the privilege to play and one that I will cherish forever.

This production was my second musical. This was an awesome show to play. I had memorized the drum part without a score once again. This book was my first time using the Grover Pro Miller Machine! I'm so glad I found out about it for this show, since this was my first time worrying about fast triangle hits. I occasionally used a triangle beater on the side if I had time to pick up my sticks again. This was also the first time, I needed to think about fast stick to mallet switches. That's when the SD4 Combo Sticks from Vic Firth come in handy!
The equipment used was an SPL Street Bop Kit with an 18 x 16" Bass Drum, 10 x 7" Tom, 13 x 13" Floor Tom, and a 13 x 5" Snare Drum. As for the cymbals, I utilized a pair of Meinl HCS 14" Hi-Hats, 14" Crash Cymbal, (Out of Frame) a Meinl Splash, a 20" Ride, and a 18" Meinl Trash China. For percussion, I utilized two unbranded egg shaker and a Meinl Medium Studio Shaker. As for Electronics, I didn't utilize any. Overall, this was a very fun show to be able to play for my second musical, and I would love to play it again in the future.

This production was my first musical I've accompannied. This was a great show to start with! I had memorized the drum part without a score! I unfortunatley didn't have the chance to find pictures of Warren Odze's setup at the Broadway Theater so I had to just think of a setup that was small but complex at the same time.
The equipment used was an SPL Street Bop Kit with an 18 x 16" Bass Drum, 10 x 7" Tom, 13 x 13" Floor Tom, and a 13 x 5" Snare Drum. As for the cymbals, I utilized a pair of Meinl HCS 14" Hi-Hats, 14" Crash Cymbal, and a 20" Ride. For percussion, I utilized an unbranded egg shaker and an LP Mark Tree. For Electronics, I utilized the Alesis SamplePad Pro to trigger some other auxilary percussion and some sound effects, for example, sleigh bells, tambourine, triangle, Ogre Burp, and Ogre Fart, that sort of thing. I hadn't learned about the Miller Machine, so I didn't have one for this production.
